Do I need a survey?

Yes, if you’re selling your home, buying a property, or suspect knotweed near a boundary. Mortgage lenders often require a professional assessment.

How much does treatment cost?

Most residential jobs fall between £750–£2,500, depending on size, access and chosen method. You’ll get a clear price before any work begins.

How long does treatment take?

Herbicide treatment usually takes 2–3 seasons for full control. Some small patches respond faster. Excavation can be faster but costs more.

Can you guarantee the work?

I offer a clear management plan and ongoing monitoring. If an insurance-backed guarantee is required (for mortgage purposes), this can be arranged through a specialist partner.

Do you remove the waste?

Knotweed waste is controlled material — it must stay on site unless transported by licensed carriers. We usually treat and manage it safely on site to avoid unnecessary cost.

Will the chemicals harm pets or wildlife?

All products are used at safe, approved dilutions and applied in controlled conditions. Pets are kept inside until the area is dry.

What areas do you cover?

Is Japanese knotweed really that serious?

If unmanaged, yes — it spreads fast and affects property value, mortgage approval, drainage and boundaries. Early control is cheaper and easier.

What does the law say about Japanese Knotweed?

Japanese knoyweed is not illegal to have on your land, but the  law is crystal clear: you must prevent it from spreading to neighbouring properties or land.

If you allow it to spread - even unintentionally - you can be held liable to damages under civil law, and certain actionsare restricted under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The official government guidance explains your responsibilities clearly. You can read it here.
